Lendonwood Gardens, located near Grand Lake in northeastern Oklahoma, has become a popular tourist destination in the four-state area. Part of the Oklahoma Botanical Garden System, Lendonwood offers a place of beauty and serenity in which to learn about plants and nature. We welcome the opportunity to share this treasure with tour groups and hope you will consider arranging a guided tour of Lendonwood Gardens.

Lendonwood Gardens provides a dazzling experience for gardening enthusiasts and those who simply enjoy the great outdoors. The three-acre Gardens abound with more than 1,200 types of plants, including the largest collection of rhododendrons in the Southwest. Lendonwood is a Display Garden for the American Hemerocallis (daylily) Society. Other highlights include:

• 500 varieties of daylilies, 50 bonsai, 76 varieties of Japanese maples, 70 varieties of hostas
• One of the largest collections of chamaecyparis (false cypress) in the U.S.
• 25 varieties of dogwoods
• Nine waterfalls
• Japanese Pavilion overlooking a scenic pond

The grounds of Lendonwood Gardens offer a constantly changing panorama of color and texture throughout the year. Much of the botanical garden is landscaped in the Oriental style, shaded by towering oaks. Lendonwood displays its impressive collections in five distinct gardens: the Display Garden, Oriental Garden, English Terrace Garden, Japanese Pond Garden, and the American Backyard. Lendonwood is open to the public during daylight hours year-round.

Group tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance of the visit. Tours are led by a trained Lendonwood volunteer, who can provide a general overview of the Gardens, point out highlights, and answer questions throughout the tour. In addition, group tour operators may wish to arrange, in advance, for tea to be served by Lendonwood volunteers in the Japanese Pavilion.

Lendonwood provides free parking for buses along the Gardens' eastern boundary. Restrooms are located at the back of the Gardens.

Rates for group tours of Lendonwood Gardens are: $5 per person for a guided tour or $7 per person for a guided tour and tea served in the Pavilion. Group tours and tea service require a $75 minimum.
